The cockroach is not far behind humans in the number of protein-coding genes!

 


The number of thoughts one has is not the critical measure; it is the quality of the thoughts, how they are organized, and how they are pursued!

P.S. This blogpost was triggered by a report I read that said that the cockroach had more genes than we do. A later study shows that cockroaches have 16780, while humans have 19969.
